LEGO Batman: The Videogame is an action-adventure game released in 2008, based on the DC Comics character Batman and the LEGO toy line. It was developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and was released on multiple platforms. The game features an original story where Batman and Robin face escaped villains from Arkham Asylum, led by The Riddler, The Penguin, and The Joker. The narrative is divided into three scenarios, allowing players to experience both a hero storyline as Batman and Robin and a villain storyline playing as the antagonists. The gameplay involves cooperative beat-em-up platforming, with players able to switch between characters with unique abilities. The game includes a large roster of playable characters and a “Free Play” mode for replaying levels. The Nintendo DS version has unique features and characters. The game received generally positive reviews, with praise for its replay value. It also utilized Danny Elfman’s score from the 1989 Batman film.
